Generate Client Billings with Ease

Generating Billing Slips to account for the time spent on cases is one of the most tedious tasks that we perform as attorneys. The Time and Billing Module of the Practice Information Powertool gives you the ability to quickly and easily generate billing slips, prepare and print billing statements, apply payments, and check account balances. Invoices are printable, include your firm's letterhead, and are also savable as PDF's.

Create Billing Slips from File Notes, Calendar Events, and Cost Items

Billing Slips can be entered directly in the Billing Slips screen, or you can transform a File Note, Calendar Event, or Cost Item into a Billing Slip, add them to invoices, and track their payments with the click of a button. File Notes that are used as Billing Slips are locked and cannot be modified. In addition, Billing Slips which have been included in a Billing Statement are locked. Locked File Notes and Billing Slips protect the integrity of your Billing Statements.

Adjustable Billing Rate Features

Each Attorney and Staff Member has a Default Billing Rate which is entered in the Preferences Module. However, the default Billing Rate can be changed on each individual Billing Slip. Billing Slips can also be marked as "Non-Billable", which includes them on your Billing Statements using a zero billable amount. Expenses can also be entered and tracked through the Time and Billing Module.

Create Client Billing Statements

Statements can be generated easily by adding a new Statement record and then adding Billing Slips to the Statement. Billing Slips are displayed in the "Unpaid Billing Slips" portal based upon the date range entered, and will physically move to the "Billing Slips for Selected Statement" portal once selected. A Billing Slip can be removed from a Statement once it is unlocked, after which it will appear again in the list of "Unpaid Billing Slips".

Apply Payments to Multiple Statements

Payments entered into the system can be applied to a single Statement, or across multiple Statements. You can quickly check to see how a Payment was applied to multiple Statements, or you can view the Payments that were applied to a single Statement. And you can generate a Statement of Account for your clients.
